At The Good Foot Arts Collective, we believe knowledge is power—and that young people can transform themselves, their communities, and the world around them.
Inspired by Nas’s “I Can” and rooted in the 5th Element of Hip Hop—Knowledge—this year’s gala celebrates arts education as a tool for self-expression, empowerment, and violence prevention. The number 5, representing power and refinement in Supreme Mathematics, reflects our mentees’ journey as they gain the knowledge, creative tools, and confidence to shape their lives and influence others.
The speaker honors Hip Hop’s early park jams, when DJs used ingenuity and resourcefulness to bring music into the streets. That spirit of self-empowerment is at the heart of Hip Hop—and our work: giving young people the tools to turn their voices into positive action and creativity into change.
